The PHYS 200 home lab kit contains devices and instruments (see picture below) that are essential for completing all of the lab experiments in the PHYS200 Home Lab Guide. When you feel ready to do the labs, you should request your lab kit from the library. You will be loaned the kit for a period of two months. The lab kit will be mailed to you shortly after you request it. Sometimes you will be placed on a waiting list if the demand for the kits is high. When you receive the kit, it will contain a card for return postage. Note that this is similar to the book borrowing procedure, which you are also encouraged to use. To reach the library call the toll-free number 1-800-788-9041, ext. 6254. You can also browse the library website. Please note that only those enrolled in an Athabasca University physics course may borrow lab kits. In addition to your student number and a shipping address, you will have to clearly indicate to the library staff which course you are enrolled in. Since overlapping enrolment in PHYS201 and any other physics course is not allowed, you generally will not be allowed to borrow two kits at a time. For technical problems with the lab kit, please contact the Science lab. When finished with a particular kit, you should carefully repackage the contents and return the box to the AU Library. Return postage for the kits has already been paid for (within Canada). International students must pay for the return shipping plus insurance. KIT CONTENTS 01. Go! Motion 02. USB Cable 03. Pulley 04.
